WPL Mumbai Indians vs UP Warriorz

(Cricket news)! The inaugural WPL season has been a massive success and now it is time for the business end. Having finished top of the table Delhi Capitals are straight into the finals. Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz will now go head to head for a place in the first ever WTC final. The two teams have faced each other twice this season. Mumbai won the first encounter by 8 wickets while UP Warriorz won the 2nd match by 5 wickets. Mumbai Indians have had a better tournament in general but if UP Warriorz play up to their level then they will be very difficult to beat.

Mumbai Indians ideal playing XI:

Hayley Matthews, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Nat Sciver-Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, Issy Wong, Humaira Kazi, Amanjot Kaur, Jintimani Kalita, Saika Ishaque

Bench:

Dhara Gujjar, Heather Graham, Chloe Tryon, Sonam Yadav, Neelam Bisht, Priyanka Bala

The line-up of Mumbai Indians has been set for the whole tournament. They have had batting collapses towards the backend of the tournament but they have been great for the majority of it. Saika Ishaque has been the breakthrough player and her contribution throughout the bowling innings will be very important. The opening partnership of Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia has been great throughout the tournament and the same will be expected from them. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s captaincy will be tested in this high pressure game.

UP Warriorz ideal playing XI:

Alyssa Healy (c & wk), Shweta Sehrawat, Kiran Navgire, Tahlia McGrath, Grace Harris, Devika Vaidya, Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone, Parshavi Chopra, Anjali Sarvani, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

Bench:

Simran Shaikh, Shabnim Ismail, Lauren Bell, Shivali Shinde, Laxmi Yadav, Soppadhandi Yashasri

The UP Warriorz have juggled between Grace Harris and Shabnim Ismail throughout the tournament but the former is likely to get the nod. Harris has had a very good tournament and her power hitting will be very important for the team. Shweta Sehrawat was dropped down the order and eventually out of the team after some disappointing performances but in the last game she showed a little bit of promise. Simran Shaikh on the other hand has been under par so she may miss out which means that Devika Vaidya will be relocated to the middle order with Sehrawat opening the batting or it may even be the other way around.
