(Football News) Marco Asensio a couple of weeks ago took the decision to reject Real Madrid’s extension offer. According to reports he decided to leave Madrid because of his lack of game time which is understandable. AC Milan and Arsenal were interested but the most concrete one was Aston Villa. Their manager Unai Emery personally called Marco Asensio to convince him. However, things changed when PSG entered the race. Now Asensio looks set to join the Parisians on a free deal and according to reports he will earn €10 million a year.
Marco Asensio will be a replacement for Lionel Messi who is set to leave the club for free. One of the reasons Asensio is said to have left Real Madrid is because of his position. The player prefers to play as a number 10 but at Real Madrid, he was played as a right winger. Currently, PSG under Christophe Galtier plays a 3-4-3 formation. To fit Asensio in his best position that will have to change and is likely to change as the player left Real Madrid to play in his best position and has now agreed to join PSG. Asensio will play his final game at Real Madrid on Sunday against Athletic Club.
There is a mini-revolution going on at PSG with several key players leaving. Lionel Messi is all set to leave the club for free after 2 seasons. The same with Sergio Ramos who has also officially announced his departure. According to reports Neymar Jr is also on his way out but that is a report that comes out every year. The signing of Marco Asensio is a statement that PSG are going in a different direction as he isn’t necessarily one of the hottest properties in Europe but could become great if utilized well. Kylian Mbappe has already confirmed that he will stay for another season which is great news for PSG fans.
