In the team’s second summer game against Rangers, Amad scored a goal, and on Saturday night against Arsenal, he was included in the starting lineup.

Recently, Ten Hag stated that he anticipates great things from Amad in the upcoming season and that the Ivory Coast international hopes to play for the 20-time English champions for a very long time.

“I’m content right now. Since I smile at everyone, I believe that everyone is content with me. Isn’t it a great energy to live here forever?” reporters on Tuesday, Amad said.

The forward missed the first half of last season with a knee injury that he suffered during the team’s preparations for the 2023-24 campaign, but he is now aiming to move on from the disappointment.

“It was not easy for me to get that injury in pre-season last season. I was out for a long time, but the most important thing was to come back stronger and to help the team,” said the forward.

“I think at the end I was happy with my contribution and I forgot the past. And now I am thinking about the present.

“I’m so motivated to start the season. I’m so excited. Yeah, I believe in the manager. Last season I know I didn’t play a lot, but I think this season is going to be a good season for everyone and I’m so motivated to start the season.

“Everyone wants to play. That’s why in the training you need to put everything, you need to fight to start in the XI. So yeah, everyone wants to play.

“We have a good team, we have good players: Antony, [Jadon] Sancho, [Marcus] Rashford, [Alejandro] Garnacho. Everyone is a good player. It’s the manager who can decide who will go on the pitch and who will go on the bench.

“But the most important thing, when you don’t play, you need to be ready because you never know. You can decide the game when you are on the bench. So yeah, everyone is important in the team.

“My first position was number 10. When I was in Atalanta, I was number 10 and after that they put me on right winger. But yeah I can play number 10, I can play right winger. I can play left winger. So I can play everywhere in the forward [line]. And yeah, I’m ready to play every single position in the forward [line].

“The manager believes in young players. You brought Garnacho in two years ago. They give him a lot of game time and he brings Kobbie [Mainoo] in last season.

“He gave him game time and this season I think he brings other players, young academy players and I think the manager believes a lot in young players and this is the most important thing and I hope this season he is going to give me a lot of game time. But it’s up to me to prove myself in training and to say I’m ready to start now with the team.”

Amad, who arrived at Old Trafford from Atalanta BC in January 2021, has scored three times and registered two assists in 21 appearances for Man United in all competitions, and he could again be in the XI when the Red Devils tackle Real Betis in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
