(Football news) The Danish hosts, who lost the rematch against the Red Devils at Old Trafford two weeks ago by a narrow score of 1-0, will be out for retribution.

Although Copenhagen will have learned a lot from their performance on matchday three against Man United, they ultimately left the red side of Manchester empty-handed as the Red Devils secured all three points thanks to a dramatic last-minute penalty save by Andre Onana and a header from Harry Maguire in the second half.

The Lions are currently bottom of the group and three points behind second-place Galatasaray, who play Bayern Munich next. They have only managed one point from their first three Champions League matches, so they will have to work hard to finish in the top two.

Following their narrow defeat at Old Trafford, Jacob Neestrup’s team has gone on a three-game winning streak at home. On Sunday, they defeated Hvidovre 4-0 in the Superliga, defeated Midtjylland 1-0 in the Danish Cup, and won 4-2 in the top division at Randers.

In the Superliga, Copenhagen is four points ahead of second-placed Brondby, whom they play on Sunday for a top-of-the-table match. The game began with an equalizer from Rasmus Falk, but goals from substitutes Viktor Claesson, Jordan Larsson, and Victor Froholdt came in the second half.

After winning their first-ever Champions League match, 1-0 at home against the Red Devils in the group stage of the 2006–07 season, Copenhagen is getting ready to welcome Man United to Parken Stadium for the first time. This matchup also happened to be the team’s fourth game in the season.

It might be difficult for the Danish champions to duplicate that success on Wednesday, though, as they have lost all six of their home Champions League games and their last 10 meetings with English clubs in European competition. Of those, five ended in draws, including four scoreless draws.
