Manchester United player Casemiro injured

When assessing Casemiro's health before Manchester United's match against Liverpool last weekend, the team's physiotherapists have come under fire for allegedly overlooking a potentially serious hamstring injury

(Football news) Due to the problem, the midfield player was unable to play in the thrilling FA Cup quarter final match against England and Spain this past weekend. As a result, he has subsequently been left out of Brazil’s team for that match.

At Old Trafford, Scott McTominay and Kobbie Mainoo started in a midfield two after Erik ten Hag was forced to make a move.

Casemiro is thought to have complained of hamstring pain the day before their matchup with their fierce rivals. This problem has already held him out for three months this season and nearly necessitated surgery.

Despite that though, the Man United medical team ruled him fit to play against Liverpool, diagnosing no significant problems after an examination.

However, Brazilian outlet Trivela claim that Casemiro was not satisfied with this conclusion, and went to seek a second opinion with his own personal doctor in Barcelona.

After consulting with his doctor, Casemiro was told that he had sustained a minor injury, and it could become a big problem if he attempts to play through it, suggesting he should sit out the next few weeks to avoid aggravating it and turning it into a more serious issue than it currently is.

Casemiro ended up being a late casualty from the side which faced Liverpool, with the club then confirming the player had picked up a “muscle injury”.

Casemiro, who suffered an ankle injury in October, played barely forty-five minutes in their EFL Cup loss against Newcastle United at home. During that 3-0 loss, he suffered a significant hamstring injury. Consequently, the Brazilian would be sidelined from early November until the middle of January, with his next appearance coming in the FA Cup match at Newport County.

Casemiro has played in the nine games that have followed, but it is still unclear how serious this more recent issue is and whether it is a repeat of an earlier ailment. Since the three-week break should allow Casemiro’s situation to calm down, he is currently in contention to make a comeback when Man United plays Brentford on March 30.
