(Football news) The 25-year-old’s contract with RB Leipzig was terminated by mutual consent last September, and he went on to sign a pre-contract with Udinese, with his move being confirmed at the start of 2025.
Solet has made 10 appearances for his current side, providing one assist, and his performances have allegedly caught the attention of a number of clubs, having produced a string of strong displays.
According to multiple sources, Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on him, while there is also interest from West Ham United, with the two clubs potentially going head-to-head for his signature.
Udinese would allegedly be unwilling to entertain any offers below €30m (£25m) for the 6ft 4in center-back, who has been capped at the Under-17s, Under-18s, Under-19s, and Under-20s levels by France.
Man United ‘interested in Udinese defender Solet’
Solet has only missed one Serie A match for Udinese since arriving, and that was through suspension, having been sent off in the clash with Como in the middle of January.
Udinese are 10th in the Serie A table and therefore unlikely to be able to offer European football next season, placing them in a tough position when it comes to rejecting an offer from a European powerhouse.
West Ham are keen to boost their center-back options for next season, while the same can also be said for Manchester United, who are expected to allow both Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans to leave on free transfers.
Harry Maguire is also allegedly for sale, while Lisandro Martinez is out for the remainder of the year with a serious knee injury.
Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite are believed to be among the center-back options for the Red Devils this summer, but Solet would almost certainly represent a cheaper option for Ruben Amorim’s side.
