(Football news) Liverpool’s last game was a disappointing 0-0 draw away at Crystal Palace. The Merseyside club are currently 7th on the table, 9 points behind 4th placed Tottenham Hotspur but they do have 2 games in hand. The pressure on Jurgen Klopp is increasing and a top 4 finish is becoming increasingly important. Liverpool are looking down and out at this stage as the results are not going their way. Their main worry is that the players are looking exhausted which is never a good sign especially when there is still so much to play for. Wolves are currently 15th on the table just 3 points off the relegation zone and they also desperately need a win.
Thiago Alcantara, Calvin Ramsay, Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez are all out of contention for Liverpool. Ibrahima Konate has returned to full training while Arthur is also set to be back having played 90 minutes with the Under-21 team on the weekend. Darwin Nunez is a doubt as he is struggling with a shoulder problem. As for Wolves, Hwang Hee-chan, Sasa Kalajdzic, Chiquinho and Boubacar Traore are all unavailable for the match. Matheus Cunha suffered an ankle injury and it is unlikely that he will be available for this game.
Liverpool desperately need a good performance to lift the spirits at Anfield. Wolves will definitely not be easy to roll over as they are fighting for survival. It will be interesting to see what midfield Klopp will pick as that has been Liverpool’s biggest weakness this season. Liverpool need a massive overhaul in the summer and for that they will need to spend. Their spending power will be affected by the UCL qualification which is why the remainder of the season is so crucial for Jurgen Klopp and his men.
