(Football news) The top four race and the relegation battle in the Premier League is going to go down right to the wire. Liverpool got their 7th consecutive win as they beat relegation threatened Leicester City 3-0. Jurgen Klopp made two changes to the line-up that beat Brentford. Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota made way for Luis Diaz and Jordan Henderson as Klopp reverted back to a 4-3-3. Leicester City on the other hand made three changes to the XI that lost to Fulham. Dean Smith dropped Denis Praet, Victor Kristiansen, Caglar Soyuncu as Jonny Evans, Wilfried Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira came into the XI.

Liverpool, as expected, dominated right from the beginning. Leicester City did have a half chance at the beginning but after that they failed to get hold of the ball. Curtis Jones scored twice in 3 minutes to give Liverpool a 2-0 lead in the first half. Both the goals were assisted by Mohamed Salah who is back to his best in this final part of the season. The form of Curtis Jones is good news for Liverpool as his return has brought life back into the midfield. In the 70th minute Liverpool had a free-kick just outside the box. Mohamed Salah back-heeled the ball to create a better angle after which Trent Alexander-Arnold launched it into the top corner.

Salah got three assists while Alexander-Arnold continued his incredible form. Liverpool are once again two point behind Manchester United who still have a game in hand. Manchester United need to win 2 of their remaining games because Liverpool have a much better goal difference. Leicester City are now very close to dropping down. They are just two points off the relegation zone but have tricky fixtures against Newcastle away and West Ham at home coming up. Dean Smith needs to change something to pull this off and one of Everton and Nottingham Forest need to slip if Leicester are to stay up.
