Lance Klusener signed as assistant coach of LSG

(Cricket news) The former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener has been signed as the assistant coach of the Lucknow Super Giants. Klusener will join along with Justin Langer the newly appointed head coach of the LSG.

Klusener is also in-charge of the Durban Super Giants, the affiliate of LSG in the SA20 league. He has also played the role of the head coach of Afghanistan side and the batting coach of the South African side. The former South African all-rounder has also had stints in the Indian domestic circuit, being a part of the Tripura set-up.

Guyana Amazon Warriors, the CPL franchise won their maiden championships under Klusener last year. The West Indies sensation Shamar Joseph who was a part of the Guyana team is also a part of LSG for this years IPL and hence will reunite with the assistant coach.

Klusener has been an important part of the South African side in his playing days. He has represented the Proteas from 1996 to 2004 and has played a total of 171 ODIs and 49 tests in his career. He will bring in a lot a experience to the LSG setup.

Lucknow will play their first game of the season against the Rajasthan Royals on the 24th of March in Jaipur.
