(Football news) While the Bianconeri are focusing on a domestic double, their opponents, led by a number of young Juve players, have successfully returned to the top division of Italy and eliminated Napoli in the round of 16.  Juventus, who were most recently cup winners in 2022 after defeating Atalanta BC to complete a record-breaking 14th triumph, will try to win the Coppa Italia for a record 15th time in May at Stadio Olimpico.

After losing to Inter Milan in a Derby d’Italia semi-final the previous season, Juve is currently fighting the Nerazzurri for the top spot in Serie A and is still on track to win additional cups. The season was otherwise somewhat disappointing for the team both on and off the field.

If they defeat Frosinone this week, they will advance to the semi-finals to play Lazio or Roma, and Max Allegri’s team could be hard to stop after going 14 league games without a loss.

Due to their current play, Juventus is only two points behind Inter in the Serie A standings. They have also allowed just eight goals in their previous 15 home games, conceding no more than once in any of those contests.

Last week, Juventus completed a swift double over Salernitana. then defeated the Salerno team 6-1 in the cup, and then finished the first half of the season with an even more thrilling 2-1 league victory at Stadio Arechi.

After Salernitana had taken the lead for the second match in three days, English winger Samuel Iling-Junior equalized in the 65th minute. Dusan Vlahovic was the Bianconeri’s hero in stoppage time, as the Serbian’s goal against opponents wearing ten men ultimately turned a one-goal deficit around. 

Less than a month had passed since Frosinone’s stunning 4-0 victory against Scudetto champions Napoli at Stadio Maradona to advance to the Coppa Italia quarterfinals, when they last faced battle against Juventus.
