Jasprit Bumrah to be rested for the Rajkot test

(Cricket news) The Indian vice-captain and the ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah might be rested from the Rajkot test, post his match-winning brilliance at Vizag. The decision might be taken in view with, managing the workload of the pacer, to ensure that he is fit and ready for the last two tests.

Bumrah was declared the player of the match for his outstanding performance, claiming nine wickets for 91 runs on a rather flat wicket, in the Vizag test. He has been an integral part of the Indian team and the back bone of Indian bowling for some time now. Keeping in mind the long season ahead the selection committee might take a call of resting him for a game.

Mohammad Siraj who was rested for the 2nd test is likely to be recalled for the remainder of the games. Siraj in all likeliness will lead India’s pace bowling attack in the absence of Bumrah and Shami. The Indian squad for the last three tests is expected to be declared on Tuesday.

Mohammad Shami, the proven match-winner for India, who is suffering an ankle injury, is expected to take a bit longer for recovery before making an International comeback and in all likelihood is ruled out of the ongoing series.

Ravindra Jadeja on the other hand is also expected to be out the series, after being sent to the NCA post a hamstring injury which occurred while taking a run in the 1st test. However, certain reports suggests that there might be some chance of him featuring, at some point during the series.

Virat Kohli’s inclusion in the squad is still under suspense as there is no clarity on his availability for the final three test. KL Rahul however is expected to be back for the remaining games.
