(Cricket news) Jasprit Bumrah, who may play a key role inside India’s 50-over World Cup strategy, is almost fully recovered and is expected to go with the Indian white-ball side for the T20Is in Ireland next month. Both the bowler, who is presently receiving instruction at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and Shreyas Iyer, who has resumed batting, have gradually increased their workloads.

Jasprit Bumrah, who had back surgery in March, started bowling again last month after completing his rehabilitation at the NCA satisfactorily. Under the close supervision of the BCCI’s head of cricket, VVS Laxman, Jasprit Bumrah’s rehabilitation regimen has continued, and he is currently putting down 8–10 overs of full-throttle bowling at the nets.

Jasprit Bumrah could go to Ireland next month with a backup India team, despite the selectors and team management wanting to consider him for the Asia Cup in September. This is due to the improvement he has shown recently. It is assumed that a choice would be made in the upcoming days.

Given the nature of his injuries and the fact that Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t played in any competitive cricket since last September, he is being treated with extreme caution. Bumrah is reportedly not displaying any discomfort while working out daily at the nets. There are hints that Bumrah might even participate in a few exhibition games at the NCA, where camps are now taking place.

It is believed that Prasidh Krishna, who underwent surgery for a lumbar stress fracture, is recovering well and has started bowling again. Similar to Bumrah, the 27-year-old was injured during the IPL and did not play again until August 2022 in Zimbabwe.

Prasidh Krishna has been battling a stress fracture ever since, which ultimately required surgery. Prasidh has been bowling regularly despite initial concerns that he wouldn’t be ready for the World Cup. He may not go on the Ireland visit next month, but he is expected to play in the Asia Cup, which might help India’s chances.

Prasidh has had a significant influence with his pace in the middle overs ever since he joined the Indian team. Prasidh’s presence would undoubtedly benefit India because opponents often target the second powerplay, and it might also change their World Cup lineup. A strike-bowler, his pace in the middle overs is considered as a value addition because of how difficult it has been to score off of his skittish deliveries and deliveries that can climb awkwardly because of his motion.

Shreyas Iyer, another dependable member of the XI who underwent surgery for a persistent back ailment, has also started batting again following his recovery. The middle-order batsman sustained the injury during the Tests against Australia in February-March of last year, preventing him from playing in the IPL. Iyer could visit Ireland, just like Bumrah could.
