India have won the 2nd Test inside 3 days to keep the Border-Gavaskar trophy for the 4th consecutive time
India Vs Australia

(Cricket news) India once again orchestrated an Aussie batting collapse to turn the fortunes to win the game inside 2 sessions. At the end of Day 2 Australia were pretty much on top as they had a lead in the 3rd innings and 9 wickets in hand. However India managed to bowl out Australia before Lunch on day 3 and then chased down a mere target of 115 before tea.

India have now retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy and are well on course to win it for the 4th consecutive time. Australia looks down and out but they could get better especially with the return of Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc in the next Test. However India will be extremely high on confidence right now and it will be difficult to beat them.

India are heavily dependent on their 3 spin bowling all-rounders to produce the goods. Ravindra Jadeja has been incredible with both bat and ball in this series. He won the Player of the Match award in both the games despite coming back after a 5 month absence. Ravichandran Ashwin continues to do his thing with both bat and ball.

He has taken care of the Australian middle order as they seem to always be in two minds when Ashwin is bowling. Axar Patel being the 3rd spinner has been under-bowled as expected but he has made it up by playing 2 incredible innings with the willow in both the matches. The trio is almost single handedly carrying India to victory in the series.

Despite the conditions being spin friendly, Mohammed Shami showed his class on more than one occasion as he troubled the Aussies with the new and the old ball. Rohit Sharma is looking really good with the bat, having already scored a century. Virat Kohli hasn’t scored a 50 in 3 innings yet but he did look really good in the Delhi Test. Everything indicates that a big score is just around the corner.

The big worry for India is KL Rahul’s form as he continues to disappoint. There is a lot of pressure on him especially when the in form Shubman Gill is having to sit out. It looks like the right time to drop him but both Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have come out and said that they will continue to back him.
