India claimed their 7th consecutive T20I series triumph at home as all the resources used put their top game together to demolish the visitors
(Cricket news) The toss did not matter in the stadium, where the longest boundary is 68 meters. Fireworks were bound to happen irrespective of who won the toss. Bangladesh did and chose to bowl first to protect their bowlers against the dew in the second innings, whereas SKY wanted what he got even after losing the toss, quoting that he wanted to test his bowlers under the influence of dew.
Despite a dangling start from India and, a wanted inception for Bangladesh, Indian batters proved their stature despite the scorecard looked like—boundar-wicket-boundary-wicket – youngsters Nitish and Rinku took the matter into their hands and answered aggressively to all the questions asked by Bangladesh’s bowlers in their 108-run association, followed by Hardik and Parag’s cameo that lifted the total to 221.
Bowlers looked never in trouble as Bangladesh kept losing wickets at regular intervals without a prolonged partnership, not even from their experienced batters with the likes of Litton, Shanto, and, Mahmadullah – who did fight but it was just a survival of the innings, as India went onto clinch the match by 86 runs and also won the 3-match series.
Aggressive yet radical batting approach:
India had a nervy start despite a 15-run first over, as India lost their 2 wickets in the consecutive over in the form of Samson, who got tricked by the slowness of the pitch. Abhishek went on to hit hard off Tanzim’s length ball that didn’t go as far with the angle as expected by Abhishek and found his stumps shattered with an inside edge. Suryakaumar was the third wicket in the powerplay, making India go 3 down in the first 6 overs in the T20Is as India was faltering on 41/3. And after that, it was all that fans saw and had just said one thing: the Indian cricket future is in safe hands.
Rinku Singh was promoted to number 5 as he rescued India from such a situation on previous occasions as well, one such was his 100-run stand along with Rohit against Afghanistan earlier this year. Nitish Reddy playing just his second international game where he scored almost run-a-ball on his debut, he smashed 74 and made people sense a maiden T20I century, and that too he scored within 34 balls. Reddy-Rinku stand of 108 runs boosted India from 41/3 to 149, where Rinku also reached his 50 with three consecutive boundaries.
Hardik entered the ground and seemed to be in the hard-hitting tempo from the dressing as he scored 10 runs off 5 balls that went to an eventual 32 of 19 balls and a brisk 28-run stand with Parag, who played a cameo of 16 runs that included 2 skiers before departing on the sixth delivery as India could score just 36 runs in the last 4.
India tested all their resources, Bangladesh’s batters failed to do the needful
The reason Bangladesh has never scored more than 215 in the format is their batters don’t have the demanded game, playing on the home pitches where 140-150 is the winning total, Bangladesh significantly needs to charge up their strike rate to highlight their name in the format, as quoted by the captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, who himself got out off the same bowler, Washi Sundar, in both the T20Is, adding just 11 from his side in the chase of 222. Their half of the batting side was in the pavilion by 11 overs of the innings with just 80 on the scorecard, giving 5 wickets to five bowlers a piece as India was trying its resources.
Emphasizing the brand of cricket Bangladesh’s batter play, the same was with Mahmadullah, who fought till the end in the penultimate match of his career but couldn’t make a significant change in the result with his 41 off 39 with just the strike rate of 105. Mayank Yadav is a precocious talent but his variability in speed protracted on a two-paced surface that produced a bit fruitful result for the visitors, but it was not his day as he ended up taking his first wicket on one of his fastest deliveries of the match (147.9). Mayank struck in his second over, taking out Jaker Ali and the catcher was Washington Sundar; it had been his second if the ball was hit with less power in his previous over where Sundar saved 4 runs for the team in an attempt to pluck the ball from the air going for a six.
A catch that has to be remembered, Hardik Pandya gave the 2nd wicket to Varun, running from deep square-leg and covering a distance till almost deep mid-wicket, Hardik stunned everyone on the ground, even though his hands twisted, he didn’t let the ball slip out from his left hand as he flipped on the ground to complete the best catch of the series so far, and then it was the full toss that didn’t go out of the park but in the hands of Riyan at long-on off, Nitish’s delivery ended Mahmadulah’s hard-fought inning and added a number 2 in his wicket’s column in the last over of the match.
