India smashed the second-highest T20I total and the highest by a full-member nation, Bangladesh’s shameful loss would haunt them for years

(Cricket news) India burst the fireworks a month before Diwali, as the visitors were demolished in the last game of their assignment. The only thing that has happened throughout the series where Bangladesh is at the receiving end is, that India has been breaking records in both the format and showing the world a completely maverick way of playing the sport.

Second-highest T20I stand for India, joint-most T20I sixes in an innings, highest number of runs in the powerplay for India, second-highest team total in T20Is, loss by the highest margin in T20I for Bangladesh, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the most expensive bowler in T20I for Bangladesh. All good was on India’s side as they controlled the game throughout to an eventual victory by 133 runs. Towid’s half-century was just a matter of positives the team could take from the match.

India gave no respite to Bangladesh:

India’s start was a bit decent, with Abhishek Sharma again losing his wicket early. However, Sanju opted for an aggressive drive, smashing 4 successive boundaries off Taskin’s over, as it was the start of the destruction and Sharma’s wicket was the only joyful moment Bangladesh experienced for the next 38 overs. Surya took just one ball to settle, scoring his first boundary on the second, and things took off from there.

Samson was leading from one end and in contrast, this time SKY had the best seat to view all the classically timed shots a bit due to the pitch and the rest was all Sanju’s prowess to hit the ball on the back foot. They both jointly took the team to their best powerplay total. Samson defies all the tactics of Bangladesh’s bowlers, as there was no consistency from their bowlers but the batters were continuously hitting them out of the park.

At one time it looked like there was no competition with the opponent and both the batters were racing to their fifty, which Samson eventually won charging up his static form with 23-all 50, celebrating like it was all he was waiting for, being unaware about what was ahead for him. Boundaries never stopped coming from either of the ends as SKY also lifted his bat to accept the appreciation from Hyderabad’s crowd. Sanju took the limelight again, smashing 5 sixes off Rishad Hossain, progressing himself to 92 with a strike rate of 262.

Samson took 40 deliveries, second-quickest after Rohit’s 35-ball ton, which made him prove to his critics, the potential he has in him and the reason he has in himself for being backed by the team management. Sixes were raining from the ends as both the batters collectively smashed 13 sixes in their 173-run stand of 70 deliveries.

Usually, a team expects the game to slow down when such a huge and impactful innings comes to an end, but the World Champions were not in this mood, as they had earlier shown this in Delhi following a collapse of 41-3. Pandya and Parag took one ball a piece to smash their maiden boundary of the match as India’s run rate continued to rise, thanks to the 70-run association amongst both who took the score past 280. There were only 2 overs that went for a single-digit figure, the loss of two successive wickets in the end kept India 3 runs short of 300, but that was also a satisfaction for India, as Bangladesh just saw the bowl going into the stands.

Indian pacers and Bishnoi sealed things up with the backing of a mammoth total:

Mayank Yadav playing his 3rd international game struck with the very first delivery as Emon’s series continued to remain forgettable. Litton Das along with Shanto and Hridoy but his form slump continued to fall over the team’s performance today in their shameful 133-run loss. Towid Hridoy looked promising despite the pressure exerted by Indian bowlers and his team’s situation as well. But as it has been with the visitors, after a decent start, their batter has been inefficient in converting it into a big total to end things in their favour, and continued, chasing a record-breaking total. Their run rate was below 10 when the required runs per over shooted up to 20 after the half of the innings, as their only batter scored a half-century and the second to score runs with a strike rate of 150 or more.

But it was just a formality after Bangladesh was 3 down with 94 runs on board and with just half of the innings left as Indian bowlers dominated them in that phase as well, Bishnoi playing his first match of the series displayed his brilliance with a 3-wicket haul conceding 30 runs off 4 overs as India wrapped up things smoothly with 133 runs still to achieve from the opponents who would remember this match for years.
