(Cricket news) After winning the 1st Test match comfortably, India will be aiming for a win to seal the series. In the bigger scheme of things India are now 2nd in the WTC points table and another win puts them in a very good position to play in the final. After the 2nd Test against Bangladesh, India only have the 4 match series against Australia in the WTC cycle left. India will have the best chance of qualification if they win this next match against Bangladesh. The match will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur.

Bangladesh possible playing XI:

Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Mushfiqur Rahim, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Khaled Ahmed, Shoriful Islam

Bench:

Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mominul Haque, Shoriful Islam, Anamul Haque, Rejaur Rahman Raja

Tamim Iqbal, who hasn’t featured throughout this tour is ruled out along with Ebadot Hossain who injured himself in the last match. Hossain didn’t bowl in the 2nd innings but did a good job in the 1st innings and he will be a big miss. Shakib Hasan is likely to play despite his injury but he may not be able to bowl. Bangladesh needed their batters to stick around for longer as their bowling wasn’t too bad in the 1st innings. Senior players Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan have to take more responsibility if they want Bangladesh to come anywhere near a victory.

India’s possible playing XI:

Shubman Gill, KL Rahul (c), Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj

Bench:

Srikar Bharat, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Saurabh Kumar, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat

India are likely to retain the same XI after Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the 2nd Test as well while Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out due to an injury. It would’ve been a tough call for India to drop any of the batters to make way for Rohit but now they can postpone the decision. India is looking like a well oiled machine at the moment but they will have to keep it going. Virat Kohli has recently broken his century drought by scoring a ton in a T20I and an ODI. Now is the perfect opportunity for him to get to 3 figures in a Test match which is long overdue.
