Table-toppers at their home stadium Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans take on a struggling Delhi Capitals in the rematch of the TATA IPL 2023

(Cricket news) The team lead by Hardik Pandya has been performing well, and the defending champions are demonstrating once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the TATA IPL.

The Gujarat Titans’ greatest asset is their lack of reliance on any one player’s performance. Shubman Gill, a youthful starter, is routinely providing his squad with strong starts, which is essential for any team playing in this format.

The gifted India batsman is being praised everywhere for his reliable batting. The Punjab cricketer will continue to support Indian cricket in all formats for a very long time, according to former India batsman Harbhajan Singh.

Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Manjrekar said, “When the spinners are in the attack, Shubman Gill stays at the wicket, and that has been good for Gujarat. He reads spinners well and doesn’t take extra risks.”

Seconding Sanjay Manjrekar’s observation, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also lauded Gill for his mastery against tweakers.

Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Harbhajan Singh further stated, “Gill is very comfortable against spinners. He is a master of this art. If the spinner forces Gill to come forward and play, then he does not get distracted. He takes his time and plays in his own style.”

In the meantime, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated LSG in a low-scoring match at the latter’s backyard to exact revenge for their home loss to Lucknow Super Giants. With a crucial 44 off 40 balls, captain Faf du Plessis reclaimed the Orange Cap from Yashasvi Jaiswal. He then expertly rotated his bowlers as RCB defended the lowest total in the TATA IPL 2023.

Ravi Shastri, a former cricketer for India, praised du Plessis for his tenacious performance against LSG and for reading the Lucknow pitch and conditions with great skill.

Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Shastri said, “Faf du Plessis applies himself well after gauging the pitch. When the going gets tough, he rises to the occasion. He has done it in the past as well for CSK. When the pitch is tricky, he holds the fort and that’s exactly what he’s doing this year for RCB.”
