Hardik Pandya returns to competitive cricket post a long injury layoff

(Cricket News) The star Indian all-rounder and India’s vice captain in the white-ball format, Hardik Pandya has finally made a comeback to competitive cricket. He was seen in action at the DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 on Monday. Hardik led the Reliance 1 side against BPCL.

Hardik has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury in the World cup game against Bangladesh. The injury forced him to miss the entire World Cup and also several white-ball series that India played at home.

The Indian all-rounder in his comeback game bowled a decent spell. He bowled a spell of 3 overs giving away 22 runs and clinching 2 wickets for his side. He in fact opened the bowling for his side. His bowling is a very positive sign, showing that he is very much back to his full fitness.

Hardik didn’t have much to do with the bat. He came into bat at No.10 and remained unbeaten, scoring 3 runs of four balls, guiding his side to victory. Mumbai Indians players like Nehal Wadhera and Tilak Verma and Piyush Chawla were also a part of the Reliance 1 line-up.

Hardik was recently at the NCA and is expected to return back to the NCA in March for his final fitness test before the IPL season. He is expected to be fully fit for the IPL and is all set to lead the 5 time champions Mumbai Indians.
