The reunion between the Blaugrana and Vitor Roque, who left Barça on loan in the summer after a very tumultuous six-month stay in Catalonia earlier this year, is one of the main talking points ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga trip to Real Betis on Saturday.
Roque has frequently discussed his time at Barça, and this week he did so once more. He will undoubtedly be highly motivated to play his best game and score. In a news conference on Friday, Hansi Flick was questioned about the Tigrinho. The coach responded that he was pleased to see the player succeeding after choosing to leave.
“I trust my players, so I’m not concerned. Every team, including Betis, has talented players. We must defend as effectively as we can. He’s getting better and doing great. We discovered that he wasn’t in the finest of circumstances when he got there. He wasn’t totally satisfied when I spoke with him, but it was the right choice for him. The fact that he feels better and is more upbeat is fantastic for him.”
Given how heated things got, Vitor Roque doesn’t seem to have much of a future at Barça, but the team still needs him to perform well so they can make money off of a future sale. It will be exciting to watch how well he performs, if he scores, and whether he celebrates. This subplot undoubtedly adds excitement to an already unique matchup between two clubs that consistently play fantastic games against one another.
