(Motorsports news) No longer Mercedes’ reserve driver in 2025, the former Haas driver was said to have visited Miami for “secret” talks with Cadillac, F1’s new eleventh team set to debut in 2026.

Addressing his presence at the red-carpet event at Queen Miami Beach, the 26-year-old told to multiple reports, “I was there briefly and took a look around.”

He added, “The logo was presented, and it looked very nice—the Cadillac logo and Formula 1 underneath. A very exciting topic and an exciting project.”

When pressed on whether he is in contention for one of Cadillac’s two 2026 seats, Schumacher, currently competing in the World Endurance Championship with Alpine, remained non-committal. “Let’s see what happens next year,” he said.

Sebastian Vettel, Schumacher’s friend and mentor, voiced support for his potential F1 return, telling RTL, “It would be nice if Mick got a second chance in Formula 1.”
