(Football news) Real Madrid have been very clear for a long time that they will not sign any players in the January transfer window. Now there is an interesting situation that has developed in the Spanish capital. Fran Garcia is a left back who is a product of Real Madrid’s La Fabrica academy. He was sold to Rayo Vallecano in 2020 after failing to make a single first team appearance for Los Blancos. Things have changed since then as Garcia has established himself as one of the most exciting left backs in the league.

Fran Garcia has a €10M release clause but Real Madrid have a 50% sell-on clause which means that they can buy him back for €5M. According to reports Real Madrid have always been unsure about the player. Now things have changed as Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly willing to pay his release clause. Real Madrid could take €5M and let him go to Bayer Leverkusen or buy him for €5M. After buying him they could loan him to Rayo Vallecano which would make perfect sense. The position of the player has never changed as Fran Garcia has said publicly that it is his dream to return to Real Madrid and he is doing everything to convince the club.

It’s no secret that Real Madrid need an attacking left back. Ferland Mendy while being very strong defensively doesn’t add much in the attacking side. Fran Garcia would be a very good addition to the squad even if it is as a back up. He is just 23 years of age which means that he will add to the group of youngsters at Real Madrid. Real Madrid will have to make up their minds quickly as there aren’t many days left in the window. In an ideal situation Real Madrid would’ve liked to wait till the summer but now the situation demands them to act quickly.
