US group KAM Sports interested in buying Premier League club Everton

(Football news) According to sources, US group KAM Sports are interested in buying Everton Football Club. The group had previously held talks with current owner Farhad Moshiri who said the club wasn’t for sale but multiple reports have suggested that the talks have continued between the two parties with KAM Sports not being attached to a larger conglomerate for the takeover. Belonging to the Minneapolis-based Kaminski family that made its money in investments, KAM Sports describes itself as a "family-owned organisation that is set up to own and manage premier international sports assets".

Earlier this year, the Kaminski family along with a larger consortium led by former Manchester United and Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon attempted to buy Everton. However, owner Farhad Moshiri had penned a letter to fans and said “I want to clarify that there is no 'for sale' sign currently hanging outside Everton. It will always be pragmatic to explore all potential investment opportunities, but I want to reassure all of you that Everton Football Club is not for sale." The British businessman has committed to building a new 53,000 seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock by 2024.

The club have received significant investment under Moshiri’s ownership but have struggled to perform on the pitch. Everton narrowly missed out on relegation last season and have posted losses of £372m in the last three seasons. The Liverpool based side is one of the most iconic in the Premier League and fans have been frustrated with how poorly the club have performed in recent years. A takeover by KAM Sports could present a good opportunity to get back to where it belongs and potentially challenge for a Europa League place in the future.
