Real Madrid to offer midfielder Dani Ceballos a contract renewal

(Football news) Multiple reports in Spain claim that Real Madrid are looking to offer a new contract to Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard's current contract expires after this season which means that Real Madrid could lose him for free. Real Madrid had put Ceballos on the transfer market this season but no concrete offers arrived. According to reports, Carlo Ancelotti considers Ceballos a top player who has the potential to be a part of Real Madrid's future. Ceballos' game time is very limited and he usually comes on to manage the game in the final minutes when Real Madrid is winning. In his limited game time he has shown some pretty impressive skills which has left a mark on fans. Things could change next season if veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric don't renew their contracts.

Ceballos is in his prime at the age of 26 and being a bench player who plays a few minutes here and there isn't ideal. Having said that he is at a club like Real Madrid whose bench is also prestigious enough. If Ceballos does accept the new contract, his potential departure next season will be very complicated. The player will definitely demand more game time from Carlo Ancelotti before even considering a renewal. He has interest from his boyhood club Real Betis but the club is reluctant to match Real Madrid's asking price. There are still a few days left in the transfer window and a departure is still on the cards but at this moment in time reports of a renewal are much stronger.

From Real Madrid's point of view a renewal would make perfect sense. Casemiro has left the club while Modric and Kroos just have one year left on their contracts therefore next season Real Madrid could have a whole new midfield. At this moment in time Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni are all ahead of Ceballos in the pecking order. Next season, Real Madrid could need a bit of experience in the midfield and Ceballos will have that more than the other three. In terms of creativity, Ceballos is better than all three young midfielders and he could break his way into the team next season.
