Due to MI’s legacy in the IPL, every cricketer strives to be a part of the MI dressing room: Harbhajan Singh

The famous Wankhede Stadium will host two significant events when the Mumbai Indians take on the Rajasthan Royals

(Cricket news) On Sunday night’s TATA IPL 2023 match between the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, the iconic Wankhede Stadium will commemorate two significant events.

The TATA IPL is scheduled to hold its historic 1000th game tonight, and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma will play at his home field on his 36th birthday today, providing fans with a double dose of joy.

Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma’s TATA IPL 2023 season may not have been particularly remarkable thus far, since the squad is ranked in the bottom half of the points standings, but this group is resilient.

According to former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, despite dropping two straight games, MI is still capable of mounting a comeback, and captain Rohit Sharma, who will play his 150th match as the TATA IPL captain, shouldn’t put himself under excessive strain.

Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Sehwag said, “MI have definitely lost two matches but all is not over for them. Rohit should not come under the pressure of captaincy and play his game freely. This team has the potential to bounce back. It can still qualify for the playoffs.”

Irfan Pathan, a former cricketer for India, believes Mumbai Indians are having trouble in the TATA IPL 2023 because their bowlers can’t keep up the pressure on fresh batsmen.

Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Irfan Pathan said, “The problem with MI bowlers is that they are allowing the new batters to settle. They have even allowed the uncapped batters to play aggressively. Almost every bowler, except Piyush Chawla, didn’t bowl consistently in the right areas.”

Virender Sehwag and former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh both agreed that the legacy of MI is such that every player wants to be a part of this franchise, and that it will be Rohit’s responsibility to bring it back in the TATA IPL 2023.

Speaking on Star Sports, Cricket Live, Harbhajan said, “MI has had a different legacy. Every cricketer aspires to be a part of this franchise. Although the situation has changed a bit this year, Rohit has the responsibility to revive this legacy. They have many young and talented players. Now, it is his job to groom these players.”
