Currently, Jos Buttler is the best batter in the world: Harbhajan Singh

The TATA IPL is continuing to live up to its moniker as the Incredible Premier League in its second week. From Monday to Thursday, we saw four consecutive last-ball thrillers

(Cricket news) By defeating Chennai for the first time since 2008, Rajasthan Royals put on an incredible display and broke through the walls of Chepauk. Sandeep Sharma managed to stop MS Dhoni, the match-winner, from putting the game away in spectacular fashion by holding his composure in the final over and defending 20 runs to give his team a historic victory.

Apart from Sandeep’s steely nerve under duress in the final over, the RR spin trio of Ashwin, Chahal, and Zampa bowled superbly, and Jos Buttler’s resilient half-century helped them to a respectable total.

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh referred to English opener Jos Buttler as “the number 1 batter in the world” for his outstanding batting on a track that was conducive to spin, Chepauk, during the TATA IPL 2022.

Speaking to Star Sports, Cricket Live Show, Harbhajan Singh said, “I fell short of words to praise Jos Buttler. He is a proper batter of the cricket ball. He uses the crease to perfection, possesses good technique, and he has good footwork against pace and spin. For me, he’s the No. 1 batter in world cricket at the moment.”

The TATA IPL’s attention shifts to the North on April 13 as Punjab Kings host Gujarat Titans at home following the gripping contest down South. Mohammed Kaif, a former Indian cricketer, praised Shikhar Dhawan, the captain of Punjab and a stalwart in the batting order, calling him the TATA IPL’s ruler.

“Punjab Kings’ bowling is good. The team that has a good bowling unit has a better chance of finishing in the top four in the TATA IPL. Shikhar Dhawan is the Khalifa of TATA IPL. He is in form and leading his team by example. These conditions have further boosted the chances of his team going a long way this season.”

Hailing Shikhar Dhawan for the way he’s batting, former Australia all-rounder David Hussey termed the senior India cricketer as the best in the business.

Speaking to Star Sports, Cricket Live Show, David Hussey said, “Punjab Kings’ strategy looks simple in TATA IPL i.e. to bat around Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan has paced his innings brilliantly in the tournament, he’s a world-class batter.”
