(Football news) It seemed that the midfield player will play for Manchester United against Sheffield United this coming weekend, given his involvement in the team’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay.

In contrast, Casemiro has remained in Brazil to heal from the issue he encountered while playing for his nation, according to a statement posted on the team’s official website.

“Casemiro was absent [from Thursday’s training session], having remained in Brazil, on the club’s advice, to recover as swiftly as possible from a small issue picked up while playing for his country,” read a statement from the 20-time English champions on Thursday.

“He will be unavailable for Saturday’s game with the Blades but is expected back at Carrington early next week to resume training, although he is suspended for the UEFA Champions League encounter with FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford, after being sent off in the defeat to Galatasaray.”

So, on October 29, in the Manchester derby, Casemiro might make his club debut against Manchester City. With four goals and one assist in 11 appearances across all competitions, the Brazilian has once again been a key member of Man United’s squad in the 2023–24 campaign.

However, Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon participated in the first-team practice on Thursday, giving Man United a double boost. But before the international break, after his team’s 2-1 loss to Brentford, Casemiro was replaced, and his defensive play has come under scrutiny this year.

Due to injury, Amrabat was unable to represent Morocco during the international break, and Reguilon has missed the last four games for his loan squad because of a hamstring issue.

The team will also be hoping that Raphael Varane, who trained on Thursday, has fully recovered from the injury that kept him out of the Brentford match. The two are expected to play Sheffield United.

In addition to Casemiro, the Red Devils will be without Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, and Amad Diallo this weekend due to health issues.
