Soyuncu is going to leave Leicester City on free transfer and is set to join Atletico Madrid on a 4 year deal

(Football news) Leicester City Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu is set to leave the former Premier League and will sign a four-year deal with Atletico Madrid in the summer. He spent the last five years with the Foxes but he will be a free agent as his contract will expire next month. The defender is struggling for playing minutes at Leicester this season he has had three successful seasons along with winning the FA Cup in 2020.

Soyuncu this season has completely since fallen out of favour having started just six Premier League matches this season and most have come over the last two months. Atletico Madrid showed interest during the January window as Soyuncu will join Diego Simeone’s side in the summer transfer window. Leicester on the other hand are on the verge of dropping to the Championship as the Foxes are expected to lose some key players next seaosn.

Another player who is set to leave is Youri Tielemans’ whose contract is up in the summer, and the Belgium midfielder has no indication or willingness to sign an extension. Arsenal, who are leading the race for the Belgian midfielder, while Newcastle United are also interested. This season James Maddison has racked up ten goals and nine assists in 28 matches and has enjoyed another brilliant individual campaign as he too is expected to be on the move away from the King Power Stadium.

Maddison is not short of options, with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur leading the race for his signature. While it is probably too late to prevent the exit of big stars from the team, Leicester will be eager to preserve their Premier League status with just two games left to play. Dean Smith faces a tough test away to Newcastle in their next match on Monday, before a season deciding finale against West Ham United on May 28.
