Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) set to reschedule Zimbabwe Tests

(Cricket news) The Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh which was scheduled to begin from May 2024 is set to rescheduled, as BCB is planning the change of dates of the home series in order to get some time to prepare for the Forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup which is set to begin from 1st June in West Indies and USA.

Bangladesh will begin their preparations for the T20 World cup with the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League starting from January 19. After the BPL, Bangladesh are scheduled to play a home series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka are scheduled to play two Tests alongside three ODIs and three T20Is following which Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe for two Tests along with five T20Is in May.

BCB is planning to shift the tests in order to get some extra time to prepare for the global T20 tournament. The shift of plans will allow the board to send their team earlier to the USA in order to adapt to the foreign conditions. This is only the second time that Bangladesh will play cricket in USA after their solitary series against West Indies back in 2018.

Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha is expected to arrive on January 20 and following his arrival BCB will chalk plans for the mega event starting this June.
