BCB appoints Hemp, Adams as batting and bowling coach

(Cricket News) The Bangladesh Cricket Board has appointed David Hemp, BCB’s High Performance (HP) Head Coach as the national team’s batting coach. They have also announced former New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams as the national team’s bowling coach.

Hemp has had a wonderful first-class career as a batter for Glamorgan, Free State, and Warwickshire scoring over 15,500 runs. He has also played in 24 ODIs for Bermuda. Hemp, holds an ECB Level 4 Coaching Certification and was the head coach of the Pakistan Women’s National Team from 2020-2022.

Hemp had been working as the HP Head Coach of Bangladesh since May 2023 and had toured with the team as its batting coach in New Zealand last year. He had also served as Head Coach of the Victoria State Women’s Team and the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League.

Adams on the other hand has represented New Zealand in 47 games across formats. He has previously worked as the bowling coach of New Zealand in the recent T20 series against Pakistan and as Australia’s assistant coach in the 2022-23 series against South Africa. He has also worked with New South Wales Blues as the head bowling coach from 2018-2023

Both of them will join the Bangladesh side from the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka. They have been signed to serve the Bangladesh side for a term of two years.
