(Football news) Bayern Munich won 1-0 away at PSG in the 1st leg of the UCL Round of 16. Kylian Mbappe was only fit enough to make the bench as PSG played a 4-3-1-2 formation with Lionel Messi and Neymar up front. Sixteen year old Warren Zaire Emery started the game and became the youngest player to start a Champions League knockout game. Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos started in defence as Presnel Kimpembe was benched. Bayern Munich on the other hand started with a 3-4-3 as Thomas Muller and Alphonso Davies were on the bench.

Bayern Munich despite being away from home dominated possession. PSG couldn’t keep hold of the ball but they did string together a couple of counter attacks which didn’t work out as the passing was a little sloppy. PSG’s defence and midfield were very compact as they managed to keep Bayern Munich at bay for the majority of the game however in the 53rd minute Davies assisted Coman who scored the only goal of the match.

Kylian Mbappe did come on and looked to have equalised but the goal was ruled out for offside. Benjamin Pavard got sent off towards the end of the game but that didn’t affect the result. PSG will have to come back and win against Bayern Munich in Bavaria otherwise they will face a 2nd consecutive Round of 16 elimination.

AC Milan got a narrow 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the San Siro. Antonio Conte’s line-up was as expected in a 3-4-3 with Emerson Royal preferred over Pedro Porro. Clement Lenglet started ahead of Ben Davies at left centre back. Milan started in a 3-4-3 formation as Charles De Ketelaere was left on the bench. Brahim Diaz scored in the 7th minute even after Fraser Forster’s double save.

Tottenham Hotspur did get right back into the game and played some good football but they couldn’t test Milan’s goalkeeper enough. Milan also had really good chances towards the end but the match ended 1-0. Tottenham’s troubles worsened as Eric Dier got a yellow card which means that he will miss the return leg.
