Ashwin’s willingness to keep learning is remarkable: Karim

(Cricket news) On Day 3 of the first Test at Dominica on Friday, India defeated the West Indies convincingly by an innings and 141 runs because to outstanding performances from debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit 171, and veteran Ravichandran Ashwin, who picked up a match-high 12 wickets. When India declared their innings at 421/5, the former captain Virat Kohli too joined the fun, batting 76. From there, Ashwin and company took control, bowling out the hosts for just 130 in the second innings.

He is constantly open to learning, and that is what is special about Ravichandran Ashwin, said Saba Karim, a former India wicketkeeper who is now a consultant with JioCinema. You would have seen that he was able to swiftly identify the batters’ areas of weakness during this game, and he then walked around attempting to set them up. He adjusted the angle as you could see.

Since Ravichandran Ashwin has been competing on the international stage for more than ten years, Karim has been impressed by his eagerness to develop new aspects of his game. He continued, “He keeps adding so many new things to his arsenal as an off-spin bowler, and I feel that there is a lot for the young spinners to learn from him.”

Ashwin missed the recent World Test Championships final against Australia because of injury, and according to another JioCinema specialist, Pragyan Ojha, this is the best retort the spinner could have offered. “Champions players will show it in a different way if they are not given what they want,” he remarked. The best thing is that when he finally had his chance in the very next game, he showed why he is the No. 1 spinner by coming and taking 12 wickets. Instead of talking, this is the finest way to demonstrate your abilities.

In the meantime, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a significant impact on the game and seized his opportunity. Karim commented on his performance, saying “the fact that he played on all three days, through different conditions of the surface here, in different scenarios, in different phases, and he batted in such an accomplished manner and that’s what you would love to see in a young batter, and it seems he had come well prepared for a Test match like this.”
