Kamalpreet looking for a top finish as she storms into finals

(Athletics news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: Women's Discus Throw qualification stages saw India’s Seema Punia in Group A and Kamalpreet Kaur in Group B in action in the Tokyo Olympics. In Group A, Seema Punia finished 6th and 16th overall with throws of 60.57m and 58.93m. In Group B, Kamalpreet Kaur put up a magnificent performance as she improved in every throw finishing second in her Group and also second overall to qualify for the finals. She started with a 60.29m, 63.97m and finished with a 64.00m. She is the national record holder with a throw of 66.59m and will look to carry on the form.

The top 12 qualifiers or throws of 64m will guarantee the athletes a place in the final, the final will take place on August 2nd and Kamalpreet Kaur will look to finish on top.
