By formally adding the energetic Spanish full-back Olga Carmona to their impressive lineup, Paris Saint-Germain has caused a stir in the football community.  With this acquisition, the club’s goal is made abundantly evident as they aim to bolster their quest for championships in the future years.  The Sevilla native, who is only 25, has already made history by scoring the game-winning goal that gave her team the Women’s World Cup.  She turned rejected a renewal offer from Real Madrid, the team she joined as a young, impressionable 19-year-old after developing her skills at Sevilla, and is now bringing her skills to the City of Light.

Carmona, who has a three-year deal, is regarded as a crucial member of PSG’s squad, supporting their hopes of winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League at last.  PSG has yet to lift the trophy despite multiple near-victories, but now that Carmona is on board, their prospects are greater than ever.

 Carmona will be surrounded by a galaxy of stars when she takes over for Sakina Karchaoui, who has accepted a midfield role.  As she teams up with American wonder Crystal Dunn, Dutch playmaker Jackie Groenen, English goalie Mary Earps, Sakina Karchaoui, Romee Leuchter, and Griedge Mbock, expect fireworks.  The team is full of talent and determination.
