(Football news) The 2022 World Cup has been an incredible tournament so far and we’re into the final stage. France and Argentina are into the final while Croatia and Morocco will play the 3rd place match. While the stakes for the 3rd place match aren’t as high as the final, it is important. Finishing 3rd will be an incredible achievement for either of these teams. According to reports the 3rd place team will get approximately $2 million more than the 4th place team. Both the teams will be fighting exhaustion, having played so many games in such a short period of time. The match will be played at the Khalifa international stadium in Doha. 

Morocco have created history in this tournament by becoming the first ever African team to make it to a World Cup semi finals. They will be looking to further cement their legacy by finishing 3rd. Throughout the World Cup, Morocco have struggled with injury issues. Captain Romain Saiss started against France despite struggling with injury but had to be taken off after 21 minutes. He is unlikely to take part in the game while the availability of Noussair Mazraoui and Naif Aguerd is also doubtful. Morocco have already played Croatia at the World Cup this year which was in the first game of Group F. That particular game ended in a goalless draw. 

Croatia have played back to back World Cup semi finals but unlike last time around they couldn’t make it to the final this year. Croatia also have a couple of injury issues to deal with before the clash against Morocco. Right back Josip Juranovic who has played every single minute of the World Cup so far will be unavailable due to a calf injury. Marcelo Brozovic, who has had an incredible tournament is also a doubt. Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic as always will be the key for Croatia. Defensively they will have to keep Hakim Ziyech quiet which will be a very difficult task.
