(Football news) Wolves and PSG have agreed a permanent deal for Spain attacker Pablo Sarabia is set to join the Premier League side in the coming days. The two sides have agreed on a two-and-a-half-year deal, with an option to extend for an extra year after. Sarabia had numerous offers on the table but he chose to reunite with his former manager at Wolves and also due to his desire to play in the Premier League. Julen Lopetegui made the Spanish international a priority as he looks to bolster the squad ahead of a tough relegation scrap. Sarabia has to complete his medical before the deal can be finalised and made official.

The attacker endured a disappointing season at PSG, failing to register a goal or assist in 14 appearances. But his 20 goal contributions for Sporting CP last season could suggest he can be an impactful player in the squad. Wolves have been active in the transfer market with the signing Mateus Cunha from Atletico Madrid, while have finalised a deal for Brazilian youngster Joao Gomes. Lopetegui’s side face a tricky run of matches in the coming weeks, including a six-pointer match against West Ham and a FA Cup third round replay game with Liverpool

Wolves have also completed the signing of Nice midfielder Mario Lemina for a fee of around £9.7m plus add ons. The former Southampton player has subsequently signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the option to extend for a further year. The Gabon international joined Southampton in 2017 and has gone on loan spells at Galatasaray and Fulham. Lemina recently joined Nice in 2021 and has made 22 appearances for them this season where he scored once also

Lopetegui has expressed his desire to improve the Wolves squad as they look to push further up the table: “In front of us we have a hard task and we have to be ready. The transfer window is open, so we have to take advantage because we have few players in this position. We have to balance this situation.”
