(Motorsports news) The Indian shooters put up a convincing display at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, scoring their best-ever result in the continental event. The team has won 18 medals in several events over the course of six days, breaking the previous record of 14 in the 2006 Doha Asian Games.

Esha Singh has participated in four events (two team and two individual) in the ongoing showdown in China, the most of any Indian shooter in this edition. Esha, who is only 18, has been a shooting prodigy since breaking onto the scene. When Esha was 13, she defeated Commonwealth Games medalists Manu Bhaker and Heena Sidhu in the 10m air pistol national championships to become the youngest shooter to earn a gold medal in the senior category.

Esha also won silver at the 2019 ISSF Junior World Cup in Germany, finishing second in the 10m air pistol ladies. She also took bronze in the mixed team 10m air pistol event. Esha won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team alongside Shiva Narwal at the 2023 World Championships in Baku.

However, her performance at the Asian Games 2023 will be near the top, and this article looks at the four medals Esha won at the Asian Games 2023.

25m Pistol team (Gold):

Esha won the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol event earlier this week, teaming up with Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwan. The three finished first with a total of 1759 points.

25m Pistol (Silver):

After winning gold in the team event, Esha went on to win silver in the women’s individual 25m pistol event. She ended with a score of 34, four points behind gold medalist Liu Rui of China, who also established a new Asian Games record. Manu Bhaker, another Indian in the final, finished fifth with a score of 21.

10m air Pistol (Silver):

Esha went to add another silver medal to her collection on Friday, this time in the individual 10m pistol event. While Esha put on a fantastic performance, she was confronted with a stiff competition from another Indian shooter, Palak Gulia, who won gold in the event. Talat Kishmala of Pakistan came in third place. Looking at the results, Palak shot a total of 242.1 in the finals, an Asian Games record. Esha scored 239.7 and had to settle for silver.

10m air pistol team (Silver):

Esha’s third medal in the continental event came as she joined with Palak and Divya TS to help India win another silver medal. Esha shot 579 to lead the three, while Palak and Divya fired 577 and 575, respectively, bringing India’s total score to 1731 points. China won gold with 1736 points, which is also an Asian Games record.
