(Cricket News) Star Indian batter Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma were recently given an invitation to the Ram Temple’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. Interestingly, there were a lot of reports circulating that the former captain of India had been invited to the grand occasion along with other cricketers.

However, pictures of the couple receiving the invitation for the holy event only made their way online on Tuesday, January 16. The couple is seen posing with the invitation for the temple’s consecration ceremony at their Mumbai residence. Reports indicate that Kohli, who was in Indore on January 14 for the second Twenty20 International against Afghanistan, traveled to Mumbai to accept the invitation in person.

The 35-year-old batsman, who was born in Delhi, arrived in Bengaluru earlier today in advance of the series’ final Twenty20 International, which is scheduled to take place at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday, January 17.

While practicing at the stadium with the team, he even struck up a conversation with wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

In addition to Kohli, the nation is getting ready for the return of Ram Lalla, or infant Lord Ram, and renowned Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have been invited to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Temple. Numerous other notable people from all walks of life will also be present for this sacred occasion, which is set for January 22 in the Uttar Pradesh city of Ayodhya.
