Vinicius Jr scores hat-trick as ruthless Real Madrid relegate Levante

(Football news) Champions Real Madrid dismantled Levante 6-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Before the game, Levante gave Real Madrid a guard of honour for winning the La Liga. The visitors needed to win the game in order to have a chance of surviving relegation but Real Madrid were absolutely ruthless. Levante from the first minute looked like a team in the relegation zone as they were completely outplayed by the reigning champions.

Real Madrid started the game with Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Eder Militao on the bench even though they were fit. Real Madrid were set on destruction mode right from the first minute. Ferland Mendy scored his 2nd goal of the season to open the scoring. The Frenchman pounced onto Luka Modric's incredible through ball before smashing it into the near post. Real Madrid's incredible attacking duo combined once again as Vinicius Jr assisted Karim Benzema who scored the goal to equal Raul and become the 2nd highest goalscorer in Real Madrid's history. Luka Modric gave another two assists to Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr respectively as Real Madrid went into halftime 4-0 up. Luka Modric completed a hat-trick of assists in the first half.

In the 2nd half, Benzema casually assisted Vinicius after beating the goalkeeper which turned out to be his 12th assist of the season. The Brazilian scored once again in the 83rd minute to complete his first hat-trick for Real Madrid. The unreal improvement of Vinicius Jr this season has been the key to Real Madrid's success. He now has 21 goals and 20 assists in all competitions this season and that too at the age of just 21. Another young gem Fede Valverde had a very good game but the ball just wouldn't go in for him. The Uruguayan midfielder hit 3 incredible long shots but all of them hit the woodwork.

Los Blancos are making the most out of these remaining matches to prepare for the UCL final. Carlo Ancelotti just has to be careful about injuries. The Italian has already announced that Thibaut Courtois will rest for the next game. Dani Ceballos, Dani Carvajal, Eden Hazard, Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Isco and Marco Asensio are all expected to be back for the game against Cadiz on Sunday.
