Manchester United’s bid of £55M on Mason Mount has been rejected

Chelsea rejected Manchester United's bid for the third in this transfer window

(Football news) Mason Mount transfer to Manchester United is still in talks as the clubs have failed to reach an agreement. Chelsea’s asking price for Mason Mount is £58+7 million, but Manchester United has made a bid of £55M which isn’t accepted by Chelsea. Manchester United are not looking to improve their bid. Mason Mount only has one year left on his contract, and Red Devils has already had three offers for him rejected.

If Manchester United hear back from Chelsea favourably, they are willing to discuss the specifics of their most recent offer. Financial Fair Play regulations prevent Red Devils from spending a significant amount of their resources on a single player, especially because they have other areas they wish to improve.

Manchester United are considering a variety of alternative midfield possibilities as a result. However, the possibility of player sales would boost their purchasing power. When Erik ten Hag was the head coach of Ajax, he first ran into Mount. The 18-year-old was playing on loan at Vitesse Arnhem when his free kick set up his team’s third goal in a 3-2 victory over Ajax.

Erik Ten Hag reportedly tried to sign Mount for the Dutch team the following season on loan from Chelsea when he was in charge of just his eighth game at Ajax. In his first full season of senior football, Mason Mount had produced 14 goals and 10 assists, primarily from central midfield.

The midfielder’s refusal to accept a new contract makes it unlikely that Mount will stay at Stamford Bridge. With just one year remaining on a player’s contract, Chelsea is aware that now is the moment to make a profit. Ten Hag seems to be close to getting his man.

Mason Mount has made clear that he won’t sign a new contract at Chelsea. He has made the move to Manchester as a priority.

Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham, is still a target for United, and the possibility of approving a transaction has been considered.

Manchester United have also kept Declan Rice on their target list in this transfer window. United want to finalise with the Mason Mount deal to move ahead with other transfers. Declan Rice has impressed other Premier League clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal who are interested in buying him in this transfer window.
