UCL returns to the Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid take on RB Leipzig

(Football news) Last season the Santiago Bernabeu witnessed 3 incredible UCL matches and now Europe's elite club competition returns to the legendary stadium. Real Madrid will be looking to keep their 100% record intact as they take on RB Leipzig. Los Blancos have won all of their 7 matches this season and played some really good football. The Merengues defeated Mallorca 4-1 at home on the weekend. Leipzig on the other hand have won 3, lost 4 and drawn 2 games so far this season. The German side have had a wobbly start but they do come into the match after a 3-0 win against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid's 1st UCL game of the season was a thumping 3-0 win away at Celtic Park. Los Blancos do look like a formidable team but it will take some effort to match or better their double winning last season. Leipzig on the other hand lost their UCL game 4-1 at home against Shakhtar Donetsk. Leipzig need to be on their A game to even get a draw at a pumped up Santiago Bernabeu. With a win, Real Madrid will be very well positioned at the top of the table but Leipzig have the ability to hurt them. This Real Madrid team has a tendency to concede a lot of goals and the visitors need to capitalise on any chances that they get.

Real Madrid will be without their talisman Karim Benzema who is suffering an injury. Carlo Ancelotti did share some good news that the Frenchman could be back in the side for the Madrid derby on Sunday. Eder Militao trained with the team but he isn't a part of the squad as Ancelotti wants him to be fit for the derby. Lucas Vazquez went off injured against Mallorca and is expected to be out for 2-3 weeks while Alvaro Odriozola and Jesus Vallejo are back in the side. Vinicius Jr has scored in each of his last 5. As for RB Leipzig, they will be without Lukas Klostermann and Dani Olmo. Timo Werner and Christopher Nkunku up front will be tricky to deal with from Madrid's point of view.
