U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee Launches Agora, Customized Platform for Team USA Athletes

New digital and mobile platform to enhance athlete experience with centralized access to wellness resources and support.

(More-on Sports News) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee today announced the launch of Agora, a fully integrated digital and mobile platform for Team USA athletes to learn, connect and efficiently access customized wellness benefits and support services in one, convenient place.

Named after the Greek word signifying a central gathering place, Agora will deliver an unparalleled digital experience that centralizes the most crucial resources, information and support network essential to the athlete journey. The all-in-one platform is set to enhance the athlete experience and further solidify the USOPC’s commitment to the overall well-being and achievement of Team USA athletes.

“Agora is a game-changer and will become an integral part of the Team USA athlete journey, transforming how athletes access resources and work toward their goals,” said Nicole Deal, USOPC Chief of Security and Athlete Services. “The USOPC is excited to embark on this journey of athlete empowerment and is confident that the portal will serve as a catalyst for even greater achievements.”

“In a world where information is abundant, Agora stands out by centralizing everything an athlete needs. It’s designed with the athlete in mind, making accessing resources simpler and more efficient, especially on the go,” said Alina Urs, Team USA athlete and 2019 Pan American Team member in Canoe/Kayak. “Through its customized approach, I feel seen and heard. The platform’s ability to deliver personalized information and support has made a tangible difference in how I approach my development and well-being, and it’s empowering to have a platform that evolves with my needs.”

The initial launch of the platform will welcome athletes who are selected to represent Team USA at the Pan American and Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile, this fall. The phased rollout will continue throughout 2023 and into 2024, to include elite-level Team USA athletes.

As part of the Agora experience, athletes will have access to USOPC’s extensive resources for which they are eligible, including career and education programs, mental health resources, healthcare and medical services, financial support, marketing and brand development, confidential advising and legal aid, and additional resources to enhance their Games and overall experience.

In announcing Agora, the USOPC paid tribute to The Foundation for Global Sports Development, acknowledging GSD’s ongoing commitment and support for athlete well-being. The new athlete-focused platform is consistent with GSD’s legacy of supporting athletes, promoting education, and furthering GSD’s vision and efforts to enrich lives through sport.
