JioCinema TATA IPL experts Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, and Aakash Chopra praised Travis Head (102 runs), Heinrich Klaasen (67 runs ) and Dinesh Karthik (83 runs) for their performances on Match Centre Live.

Zaheer Khan, JioCinema TATA IPL expert, on Travis Head – “Travis Head doing unbelievable stuff, there’s no doubt about that. I think it’s also about planning, Sunrisers have been very vocal about making use of the powerplay, and you have to be aggressive from the start. When you’re talking about that, someone needs to go and walk the talk and they’ve got the ideal man to do that. Travis Head keeps it simple, won’t take much time, and be attacking from ball one. But there’s a method to Travis Head madness, even with the hundred tonight, he assessed the situation after the powerplay and was looking to hit every delivery. There was a change of plan from the RCB bowlers when they were looking to blow those wide lines because he was giving himself room, but he was equal to the task. Travis Head made sure he hit boundaries to the cover regions as well, those cuts, and uppercuts come into play when someone’s trying to make a shift. He’s a smart operator and he’s figured out his game, his gameplan is revolving around him being aggressive from the word go.”

RP Singh, JioCinema TATA IPL expert, on Travis Head – “He hit some magnificent shots tonight, there’s no area of the ground he didn’t hit the ball to. This was an explosive innings. He started with boundaries and then accelerated to sixes. After a point it felt like, will any bowler even be able to bowl dot balls to him? Nobody could execute the yorker, the slower ball wasn’t working. The way he batted, he viewed the powerplay differently, and that impact stayed throughout the match.”

Singh on Heinrich Klaasen – “He always played pace bowling really well but now he’s playing spin bowling equally as well. Balls that miss the yorker length, especially the stumps, are almost guaranteed to go flying out of the stadium, he doesn’t let them stay in the ground. If you think you can’t execute a yorker to the stumps, you should refrain from using it, because every time it failed to execute, he punished it with a six. The word mistime has been removed from his dictionary, every shot he hit went into the second tier tonight.”

Aakash Chopra, JioCinema TATA IPL expert, on Dinesh Karthik – “Who said this tournament is only for the young? We saw a century from Kohli’s bat, Rohit’s bat, and saw Dhoni score 20 runs in four balls. DK has been hitting and doing it exceptionally. He already has two half-centuries, with the first one against Mumbai and the second one coming tonight. It was improbable that he’d successfully chase the target down, but the shots would leave you stunned if you saw them. He’s batting really well, and something does happen to him in a World Cup year… Right now, he’s in a happy space where he’s at least scoring runs. Ultimately, you want to win the trophy and matches, but you can’t win matches alone. At least, he’s winning hearts.”
