(Football news) Tottenham Hotspur are negotiating with Juventus for Dejan Kulusevski. According to Fabrizio Romano, 'Tottenham are offering a loan with a buy option clause that could become mandatory under certain conditions during a 6 month loan – around €30m. Juventus have not accepted yet as they ask for a 100% mandatory clause – around €40m. Talks on.'
Kulusevski is a product of the Atalanta academy. He first gained attention in his loan spell at Parma. Juventus beat the likes of Manchester United and Inter Milan to get his signature in January 2020 and decided to keep him at Parma until the end of the season. In the summer of 2020 he arrived at Juventus and became a very crucial player for Andrea Pirlo. He made 47 appearances in all competitions and scored 7 goals. He helped Juventus win the Coppa Italia.
In the 2021/22 season under Massimiliano Allegri, he has played only 972 minutes. Tottenham desperately need a creative midfielder and Kulusevski offers just that. With reports linking Tanguy Ndombele, Giovanni Lo Celso and Bryan Gill with moves away from North London, Kulusevski has a spot open. Spurs are currently fighting for a top 4 spot in the Premier League and are also in the FA Cup 4th Round. Spurs director Fabio Paratici was at Inter Milan when Juventus beat them to get Kulusevski's signature. He will be a very important figure in the negotiations.
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in acquiring Rodrigo Bentancur on loan which Juventus have rejected so far. Spurs are also linked with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Antonio Conte and Paratici are very busy in this transfer window as one should have expected. It will be interesting to see how many of these deals actually go through.
