Team India’s doors are being broken instead of being knocked on by Yashasvi Jaiswal: Harbhajan Singh

Several batting legends for Indian cricket have come from Mumbai, and Yashasvi is another Mumbaikar

(Cricket news) Mumbai has produced countless batting legends for Indian cricket, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the TATA IPL, is another Mumbai native who is stealing the show.

Yashasvi Jaiswal continues to ignite the TATA IPL with spectacular batting displays. The 21-year-old broke a significant record by scoring the league’s quickest half-century.

The talented left-handed opener scored a fifty against KKR off just 13 balls, which is the second-fastest T20 fifty ever, against a strong bowling attack from Kolkata Knight Riders.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh is extremely impressed with the gifted youngster’s assault against KKR and believes Jaiswal is compelling the national selectors to recognise his talent and call him up to the Indian team.

Speaking on Star Sports Studio, Harbhajan Singh said, “Yashasvi Jaiswal isn’t just knocking at the doors of the Indian Cricket Team, he seems to be breaking it with his consistently good performances. He’s carried his imperious form of domestic cricket into IPL. What a talent he is! The future of Indian Cricket is in good hands.”

According to Shastri, who agreed with Harbhajan, the time is right to put new players in India’s T20I team as the experienced players focus on getting ready for the ODI World Cup.

Speaking on Star Sports Studio, Ravi Shastri said, “If Team India is focussing on the ODI World Cup, selectors should look to give as many opportunities to the youngsters like Yashasvi and Rinku. These players should be fast-tracked and can be prepared for next year’s T20 World Cup in West Indies. If the selectors don’t pick them now then I don’t know what else they are looking for.”

Star Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who plays for the Rajasthan Royals, reached a significant milestone in the TATA IPL by surpassing all previous record holders for wickets taken and winning back the Purple Cap.

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh praised Chahal for his continuously strong performance in the TATA IPL and asserted that the Haryana player thinks like a hitter.

Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Harbhajan Singh said, “Yuzvendra Chahal does not play the format but plays with the mind of the batsmen. He bowls completely with his mind and is not afraid of getting hit for sixes. He makes the best use of the pitch, and due to this the batsmen find it difficult to play him.”
