(Cricket news) India got a comfortable 3-0 series win over New Zealand. The men in blue are now officially the number 1 ranked ODI team in the World. India have won their last 6 ODIs to start the World Cup year in perfect fashion. India’s big players are stepping up while youngsters are not disappointing either. Now India will play the T20Is against New Zealand before the all important Border Gavaskar trophy against Australia. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid would be very pleased with the performance of their team as they aim to end their long wait for an ICC trophy.

Shubman Gill continued his incredible form as he won the Player of the Series award for scoring a double hundred and a hundred. He equalled Babar Azam’s record of scoring the most runs in 3 match bilateral ODI series. Ever since Shikhar Dhawan was dropped there was a debate about who should take his place between Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill.

Now Gill’s incredible performances have well and truly cemented his place. Rohit Sharma also broke his century drought and he is looking in really good touch. Virat Kohli didn’t cross the 50 run mark in this series but that shouldn’t be a problem as he is looking in good touch. Hardik Pandya also got a fifty which is great news.

The bowlers did exceedingly well in this series. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj led the way as they wreaked havoc with the new ball. Shardul Thakur made an incredible comeback as he showed why he has the golden arm. Kuldeep Yadav continued to pick up wickets in the middle overs as he seems to have jumped ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal in the pecking order. Hardik Pandya bowled in different stages of the game and did the job perfectly. India’s bowling attack even without Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja is looking like a well oiled machine.
