SRH host DC as both the franchise look to get some much needed momentum

SRH welcome DC to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for match no 34 of this season’s IPL

(Cricket news) Two teams right are at the bottom of the points table as both the teams are desperate to get some momentum into their IPL 2023 campaign. Sunrisers are coming into this game on the back of two losses while the Capitals finally snapped their five-game losing streak with a four-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

Capitals will have to fix their batting line barring David Warner and Axar Patel, not a single batter has breached the 100-runs this tournament. Prithvi Shaw has managed just scored 47 runs in six matches as the middle order has failed to get going, Mitchell Marsh has six runs in four matches, Rovman Powell has seven in three while Rilee Rossouw has 44 runs in three matches.

Sunrisers’ batting has topsy turvy as well as they have tend to tinker a lot with their opening combination as they have used four opening different pairs in six games. Mayank Agarwal, who opened the innings in the first five games was subsequently pushed to No.6 in the last match.
Barring the hundred against KKR, Brook hasn’t lived up to his expectations in the IPL. Sunrisers will also hope to get more from Washington Sundar as the allrounder is yet to pick a wicket in the competition in 13.4 overs and has scored only 36 runs with the bat in four innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH have no consistency in their impact player substitution as in the last game against Chennai Super Kings, they used Mayank Dagarfor Rahul Tripathi after the first innings. They could again swap Tripathi with T Natarajan or Dagar for the second innings, depending on the pitch.

Probable XII: 1 Harry Brook, 2 Abhishek Sharma, 3 Rahul Tripathi, 4 Aiden Markram, 5 Mayank Agarwal, 6 Heinrich Klaasen, 7 Marco Jansen, 8 Washington Sundar, 9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10 Mayank Markande, 11 Umran Malik, 12 T Natarajan/Mayank Dagar

Delhi Capitals

The Capitals might not want to change their team after the victory against KKR unless they want a change at the top order. Shaw was used as an Impact Player in the last four games, and could be benched as DC could open with Phil Salt, which is also his favoured position. While Sarfaraz Khan can be used to strengthen the middle order. In the second innings they could swap out with Ishant Sharma or Mukesh Kumar as an Impact sub.

Probable XII: 1 David Warner (capt), 2 Phil Salt (wk), 3 Mitchell Marsh, 4 Prithvi Shaw/Sarfaraz Khan, 5 Manish Pandey, 6 Axar Patel, 7 Lalit Yadav, 8 Aman Khan, 9 Kuldeep Yadav, 10 Anrich Nortje, 11 Mukesh Kumar, 12 Ishant Sharma
