(Football news) European football league the La Liga has completed five years since establishing its local presence in India. Since then, there has been a 2000% increase in social audience, grassroot development initiatives which have impacted 20,000 youth in India as well as strengthened ties with local partners and Indian fans.
The La Liga has had supporters in India for decades which has led to the Spanish top flight opening it’s second Asian office in New Delhi in 2016. Since then, the La Liga has entered into a broadcast partnership with Viacom18 and increased the number of fans on social media by 2000%, going from 300,000 when LaLiga started working in the country to 6,400,000+ in 2022. They have also worked at the grassroots with initiatives like LaLiga Football Schools and work with the Rural Development Trust (Vicente Ferrer Foundation) as well as established strong partnerships with Dream11, BKT and HeroVired.
