(Cricket News) India was in a fix early after they lost Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Dube would then step up and form crucial partnerships with Jitesh Sharma and Tilak Varma as India successfully chased down the target. Earlier, Mohammed Nabi top-scored for Afghanistan with 42 as India restricted the visitors to 158/5.

Shivam Dube was the star of the show with 56 as India defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets to go 1-0 up in the 3-match T20I series. Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first. Virat Kohli has been included in the squad, suggesting that the pair will probably play in the West Indies and the USA in 2024. However, he will miss the opening game of the series.

Due to the fact that both batters occupy two spots in the batting order, other young players will have to step up to fill the void left by players such as Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan. In terms of bowling, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, if fit and in form, will take their spots for the World Cup; however, for the duration of this series, all eyes will be on Arshdeep Singh, who can provide that left-arm variety to the side in the championship match.
