(Cricket News) The left-arm spinner from Jharkhand, Shahbaz Nadeem has announced his retirement from International cricket. Nadeem through a social media post informed that he has called time to his cricketing carrer.
Nadeem stated “Today with immense gratitude and humility, i announce my retirement from Indian cricket. My journey from 2002-2024 has been the most wonderful period of my life,” “I am grateful for all the opportunities given to me by the BCCI, Jharkhand State Cricket association, Dhanbad Cricket association, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, SRH and LSG.”
Nadeem has been one of the legends of Jharkhand cricket, and is also well respected in the domestic arena. He was leading wicket-taker in the Ranji trophy in 2015-16 and 2016-17. He has played a total of 140 first class matches and scalped 542 wickets at an average of 28.9 and has also scored more than 2500 runs. He also has a very decent record in List A taking 175 wickets at an average of 28.9 as well.
Nadeem has also played a total of 72 IPL games across multiple franchises. His consistent performances for Jharkhand also helped him to his India debut in the longest format, which coincidentally happened to be at his home ground in Ranchi. He in his short international career, managed to play only 2 tests for India, where he scalped 8 wickets.
