(Football news) Isco was at Real Madrid for 9 years where he had some great moments. For the last 3 of those 9 years however, the Spaniard barely played any minutes. Real Madrid as expected didn’t renew his contract and Sevilla took the opportunity of snapping him up for free. Now just 4 months later Sevilla are all set to terminate his contract. Isco will be a free agent in January searching for a new club which isn’t ideal for him. Isco reportedly had an argument with the sporting director regarding lack of commitment and game time. Tensions had been boiling for a while and it has reached a point of no recovery.

Isco came to the club because the then Manager Julen Lopetegui wanted him. The pair had previously been together at Spain and Real Madrid where the playmaker was an integral part of Lopetegui’s system. Unfortunately for Isco, Lopetegui was sacked by Sevilla after a terrible start to the season. New manager Jorge Sampaoli has given Isco a fair amount of minutes but right now it seems that things have gone south. Lopetegui is now at Wolves which could be a potential destination for the midfielder to play. The former Real Madrid man did have a contract with Sevilla till 2024 but the premature end is bad news on a footballing level and personal level.

Isco’s 6 months at Sevilla wasn’t that bad as he scored 1 goal and assisted another 3 in 19 appearances. There will definitely be clubs in Spain that will be interested in his services and possibly some in other leagues as well. The midfielder still has a lot of quality and he can be an asset to any club. Issues around his fitness, commitment and professionalism have been reported since his Real Madrid days which may be working against him right now. Sevilla will definitely go into the market looking for replacements.
